What we handle
uvindex.se has no accounts and never asks for your name, email, or anything that identifies you personally. If you turn on notifications, we store a pseudonymous device profile — a random ID, your notification settings, and the alert location you chose — used only to send those alerts and never linked to who you are. You can delete it anytime from Settings → "Delete my data". When you check the weather, your location is used only to fetch UV, weather, and pollen for that place, and it is never stored with us. Your browser remembers your searches, your UV threshold, and the latest reading locally, so the app works offline too.
Cookies and tracking
We don't use cookies. Our visitor analytics count anonymously, respect Do-Not-Track (DNT), and never link you across sessions.
Where the data lives
We never store data that identifies you personally — no name, no email, no IP address kept against your profile. Weather, UV, and pollen come from Open-Meteo's open weather data, processed in the EU; we send only the coordinates you're looking up and cache them briefly by roughly rounded coordinates (e.g. 59.33, 18.07), never by IP address or any identifier. If your device can't share GPS location, the app can estimate your approximate city from your IP address using a third-party geolocation service — that lookup is cached briefly and isn't linked to your device profile. Our visitor analytics are cookieless and respect Do-Not-Track (DNT).
Your rights
You can delete all your data anytime from Settings → "Delete my data". This removes your device profile on our side and clears all local data. Questions about privacy? Email us.
